How to Bake Homemade Cake

Things you’ll need:

  • Apex Nutrition's Whole Wheat Kamut flour - Click to Buy
  • Milk
  • Apex Nutrition's Maple sugar - Click to Buy
  • Apex Nutrition's Pink Himalayan salt - Click to Buy
  • Baking soda
  • Butter
  • Mixer
  • Apex Nutrition's Avocado oil - Click to Buy
  • Eggs
  • 8” Baking pan

Instructions:

Dry ingredients:

Sift - Flour: 2 1/3 cups (290g) of Apex Nutrition Whole Wheat Kamut Flour

Baking soda: 1/2 teaspoon

Then add 1/2 tsp salt and mix together

 

Wet ingredients:

In a separate bowl, add;

Butter: 1/2 cup (115g) softened and cut into cubes (room temperature)

Sugar: 1 1/2 cup (300g)of sugar (maple sugar)

Mix with mixer or hand mixer

Eggs: Then add 3 eggs one at a time and mix

Oil: Then add 1/2 cup (120ml) of avocado oil

Vanilla extract: 1 tablespoon (optional)

Then mix.

 

Now add 1/2 of the flour into wet ingredients and mix

Then add 1/2 cup (120ml) of buttermilk (can replace with sheep milk) and mix Then add the remainder of flour and mix

Then add 1/2 cup of buttermilk (120ml) (can replace with sheep milk) and mix

 

Pour batter into 8 inch (20cm) round cake pans

Bake at 350 F (175C) for about 40mins

Allow cake to cool for 5-10mins in baking pan

Then release from the pan and let cool completely
